Looking for a game where instead of killing zombies, you farm, raise, and order them to attack your rivals? Welcome to Zombie Farm 2, a Farmville meets Clash of Clans plus Plants vs Zombie game with a most unique and interesting concept. This game lets you “plant” zombies, combine them with others to form a deadly mix, and attack your enemies with your powerful army. Who says the undead can’t be cute and be your friends? Moreover, it is combined with traditional farming games: plant real plants to earn money.
Zombie Farm 2 looks similar to farming simulation games: the concepts surrounding them are quite similar as well. With that said, if you’ve played games like these before, you can immediately hop on to Zombie Farm 2 without any problems. If you have not, then no problem: it does a good job in tutoring the newbies the basics, thanks to Tim Buckwheat, the game’s official zombie farming 101 expert.
There are a number of zombies you can plant and purchase. These include the basic and weak zombies, to more sophisticated and powerful ones, including Admiral Zombie and Amazombie. The developers definitely added a creative touch into their game, making it extremely amusing just to read the zombie names and discover the various types.
The gameplay, given that it’s played on mobile devices, is centered on a point and tap type, making it simple enough for anyone to start playing. Your main objectives would be to plant the zombies themselves, as well as legitimate vegetables, increase your plots of farming land, complete quests, and invade AI opponents. You can also perk up and decorate your farm with scarecrows up to the most absurd and flashy decorations.
The zombie invasion mechanic is simple: an invade button can be pressed on the lower left corner of your screen. After which, you will pick the zombies you will be using to invade your enemies with. Of course, your best bet would be to mix up veteran zombies with newly-harvested ones to both increase your chances of winning and at the same time, gain experience for the newbies. Unfortunately, once a zombie dies, you will need to buy “brains” (the game’s premium currency) to fully revive them. The first location you will get to invade is Old McDonell’s farm - more will then be available as you progress throughout the levels.
In Zombie Farm 2, you will also be required to complete quests which dish out experience and gold rewards. These may range from simple tasks such as “plow the ground” or something as tiring and complicated as “plant 10 carrots”. Of course, you will need to complete these: those experience points count in the long run. Certain boosts, items, and decorations are available in the game’s market which can help you create a stronger zombie horde.
Should you play Zombie Farm 2? Yes: if you’re an avid casual gamer and a big fan of farming sim games, it will give you a breath of fresh air. It is an excellent and a queer addition to the entire genre, making it a must-play for everybody.
