Establish your own horse ranches in countries like the USA, Germany and France in this brilliant horse game developed and published by Ubisoft, Horse Haven: World Adventures! Grow and harvest crops in the farm plots on your ranch to feed your horses and don’t forget to sign your horses up to participate in steeplechase competitions.
In this game, your Aunt Carol has decided to entrust the day-to-day management of her semi-run down horse ranch in Montana to you as she went off on a trip. You’ll now need to restore the Farm Center and the other buildings on your Aunt Carol’s ranch before you could start bringing in some horses.
Restoring buildings and decorating your ranch will require cash though, thus, you’ll need to find some ways to earn the money you need. One of the quickest ways to get them is by completing quests. Not to mention, quests in this game also act as a tutorial to teach you the basics of the game. It’s like getting 2 birds with 1 stone!
Another rather easy way to earn money is by ploughing some farm plots and start growing crops! These fields can be purchased at a relatively cheap price, and once you’ve placed the farming plots, you can then plant some seeds. There are quite a range of crops you can grow, such as grasses, corn, carrots and wheat. However, to access better crops, you will first need to upgrade your field.
You may have noticed that all the crop types that you can plant and grow also happen to be different types of horse feed. This is because, subsequently, you can use them as so later on. You could even use the crops you’ve harvested to produce higher quality feed for your horses by processing them through the feed mill.
That being said, it’s high time you get yourself a nice horse to look after. After all, a ranch isn’t a ranch without a horse! There aren’t many breeds for you to choose from at first, but as you level up, you’ll be able to unlock new horse breeds like the appaloosa and the mustang. Horses from the same breed can also be segregated by their rarity and quality in Horse Haven: World Adventures.
Having a horse is a huge responsibility and it’s up to you to take care of the young foal you’ve adopted. Head into your stable and feed your foal by putting the feed in the manger. Don’t forget to muck out the foal’s paddock and add in a fresh batch of hay. You can even tap on the horse to pet it!
Once you’re confident you can take care of more horses, do go ahead and purchase a new horse from the in-game market (unlocks at level 6). However, some players might enjoy breeding their horses instead. You can easily find a mate for your horse by checking out the horses in your friends’ ranches. Once matched, there will be a short “spin the wheel” type of mini-game to determine the look of your new foal. Do take note that only adult horses can be bred!
For players who love some excitement, you can also send your horses to various steeplechase competitions worldwide to earn some coins. The steeplechase event will be played out like a endless runner mini-game where you’ll be controlling your horse by ordering it to jump when it needs to (like when a hurdle is coming right up). Do your best to help your horse run as far as it can! Each event your horse participates in will consume a certain amount of energy though, so you won’t be able to play the mini-game repeatedly.
Horse Haven: World Adventures is also a very social game as you can drop by your friends’ ranches to pet their horses and speed up the production of their farms. So, if you love horse games, be sure to check this game out! You’ll most certainly love it!
