Build your world up and make it defensible against the demons’ next attack.
Plant crops, build structures and initiate production of materials for your tasks.
Help Kaya reclaim the world from the evil creatures that threaten it.
Evil demons are laying a world to waste. Kaya, a fairy, has called on all the wizards of the world to help rebuild as much of it as possible. You, along with many others, answer that call. With the help of benevolent creatures called the Shoooms, you set out to clean up and rebuild a town, and reclaim much of the land from the mist left behind by the demons.
Charm Farm looks like your typical virtual world management game, but it offers more than just the usual gameplay from the genre. However, you’ll find enough of the familiar here so it won’t be difficult for you to adjust to the game. It’s also highly immersive, so you might find it difficult to stop playing it. After all, it requires just your browser.
Managing and producing your resources are central to the game’s mechanics. First off, you spend and gather money, in the form of gold coins, in order to build the various structures and purchase mana-producing crops for your farm. Income can be collected from the buildings that you construct, like the Shack where your workers live.
It takes some time before you can collect the coins from the structures, so spend your money wisely. It pays to follow the progression suggested by the game’s quests, which you can find at the left side of the game screen.
When gathering resources, you could also find special items that you can sell off to the Market for a price in coins.
Another resource is Mana. Mana is required when sending your Shooom workers to do something. Mana sources are distinguishable as huge crystals in the ground, from which you can collect additional Mana from time to time. Mana can also be collected by planting crops, each of which give off varying amounts of Mana but also takes time a certain amount of time to be ready for harvesting.
Another resource that you can use in Charm Farm is the Ruby. Rubies are used to speed up harvesting, construction, and production of certain raw materials. A certain amount of Rubies are rewarded to you when you level up.
Building stuff requires raw materials like Lumber, Rocks, Steel, and many others. Some of these can be gathered from trees and rocks in the open world, but others can only be collected in production facilities like the Forge and the Quarry.
Resources and raw materials can also be collected by visiting friends’ farms.
Quests form a central part of the game’s mechanics as well. You could, of course, experiment and do stuff you like, and at the pace you prefer. However, the game’s quests are designed to reward you with the needed resources adequately, so you don’t go wasting off in-game cash and rubies. Rubies, for instance, are not recovered outside of leveling and purchasing more using real cash.
Aside from putting up resource-giving structures, you can also decorate your world with various decorative items. Use these to your advantage in making your virtual world something you’d call your own.
