Everything is possible in our dreams.
That’s the mantra behind everything that you do in this amazing, fully three-dimensional virtual world management game, Dreamfields. You’re assigned a field of your own that you have to cultivate, which means that you have to turn it into a very successful farm. All of these are done within your dreams, and not in the real world, so everything is possible.
Styled as a virtual farm, this game has, in its core, a crop-based gameplay. There’s a farm in the middle of your field, in which you can plant various crops that are used as ingredients later on that can help you out with your tasks. For instance, planting raspberries will give you the ingredients that you need in order to produce a bottle of jam.
There is also a kitchen that produces specific items for you as well. Each ingredient has its own recipe, made up of resources that you can both produce and gather in your field. Rope, for instance, requires hay and grass in order to be created. Hay can be planted on the farm, while grass is collected from the many plants surrounding your field.
Sometimes a helping hand is needed in order to shorten the amount of time needed to produce ingredients for recipes. You can summon helpers that will assist you in certain tasks for a specific amount of time. As mentioned earlier, you can plant raspberries and produce jam. Jam entices magic bears to come and help you out in your field.
At the start of your gaming experience in Dreamfields, bears are limited only to gathering wood for you in the forests. However, they can be used to gather stone as well, but only when you reach a specific level in the game.
Once the jam runs out, the bear or bears will leave the farm unless you are able to produce more, which you should do. Jam can be cooked in the cauldron in the middle of your field, next to the farm. You can highlight your workers to find out how much of the lure is left before they leave.
There are simply a lot of things to do in the game when you’ve entered it. To help you, the game gives you tasks, or quests that you can take on, for in-game currency rewards at the end. The Quest information even has a Help button that tells you where to go to collect that requirement.
There are two currencies in the game: Gold and Lunar Stones. Gold is collected by leveling up, completing quests, and from certain buildings in your fief. You can also visit friends’ fields to collect income from the buildings they have as well.
Lunar Stones, on the other hand, are given when you level up, and by the Deer Spirit.
The game also infuses a unique feature – you can create creatures from the power of your imagination alone. These creatures give you bonuses, like extra coins and faster production of certain crops, but they stay on your fields only for a specific period of time.
