A small group of explorers find themselves on an isolated yet mysterious island as they hunt for an elusive treasure. Set up a small sustainable outpost where you can support your explorers’ various excursions to the wild parts of the island, including crafting workshops, farms and resource-producing buildings. Go spelunking in deep caves to find rare materials, like iron, and forgotten artifacts that can be sold for coins!

To start, you’ll first need to build shelters, specifically houses, for your 3 explorers to stay in. There are many types of houses in this game that you can eventually unlock as you level up. Houses are important in this game as this is the sole way you can consistently obtain coins. The better the houses, the more cash you can get!

All the buildings in Island Experiment will require some coins to place the foundation, but in order to actually get it built and ready for use, you’ll need to spend resources, such as wood, and the manpower to do so. You’ll start off with 3 workers-slash-explorers and every action you do will take up 1 worker. So, in other words, you can perform 3 different actions simultaneously.

Your explorers’ actions will also cost you food and to get enough of them, you’ll need to fully utilize the rich soil on the island. Place vegetable patches and start planting food! Interestingly, you don’t get to choose which specific crops to plant as the game groups up all food items as “food”. However, you’ll get to choose how much food to produce per vegetable patch. Of course, to produce food more economically, you’ll need to upgrade your vegetable patch to access those new production options.

As mentioned, in Island Experiment, there are plenty of other important resources that you’ll need to gather to either construct a new building or to craft new tools and items. Some of these resources or materials include wood, which you can get from cutting down trees, clearing sharp thorns and from the sawmill, lianas (from ferns), grasses, stones, water, and even the mysterious crystals that exist on the island. You can easily get these materials via the environment by spending food, but there are some items that are a tad bit rarer.

One such material is iron. Thus, to get it, you’ll not only need to uncover deep caves on the island, you’ll also need to send one of your explorers to go spelunking for the items you need, along with some valuable forgotten artifacts hidden deep within the cave. However, before you do so, you should definitely have enough tools at hand, namely shovels, as you’ll need them to dig for the ores you need. You can get these tools crafted at the workshop.

There are also plenty of other ways to earn resources in Island Experiment. You can complete quests, or collect the daily equipment drops left by the pilot on the island. Furthermore, you can even get some freebies from passing flying birds – birds that have a sack in their claws – by clicking on them. As your resources start to pile up, remember to build a warehouse to get them all safely stored up. The warehouse has a limited capacity, so be sure to upgrade it from time to time to increase the limit.

To make things interesting, the game offers plenty of events such as the appearance of giant rats which you’ll have to defeat or moles that you can click on (for multiple times) to earn free coins. On your downtimes, you can also decorate the place up with some beautiful plants, and other décor like windmill, lantern, torches, and flowerbeds. Don’t forget to drop by your friends’ islands and get some island-landscaping tips as well.
